In-Progress Jaina by rurouni-jedi In-Progress Jaina by rurouni-jedi
In-progress fanart of Jaina Solo.

I sketched this like 6 months ago... ^^;; Wasn't able to ink it by hand to my liking, but finally did it in Painter and was much happier. Eventually it'll get colored. Eventually. :P

Just to let everyone know, I am THE BIGGEST Jaina Solo fan on the planet. Seriously, I'm totally, completely obsessed with her. She's as close to my alter-ego as they come. I read everything that has her in it, cosplay as her (see my website), write fanfiction about her, and just recently started drawing her because I was too afraid I wouldn't do her justice LOL. So yeah. BIGGEST. JAINA FAN. EVER.

(Wedge Antilles is a very close second. Basically, Aaron Allston is a freaking genius and can do no wrong. He writes Jaina and Wedge, IMO, the best. I HEART AARON ALLSTON!!!)

I like your line art a lot.

Aaron Allston is my favorite author. I always get made to feel ashamed about that, but then I find others like me and feel better.

What shame is there in liking Allston? Not only is the the most consistent of Star Wars authors (IMO), but he also isn't afraid to use humor to rock his stories. Too many authors write Star Wars too seriously. Yes, Star Wars has its serious moments, but it's also full of slapstick comedy, which Allston really uses to its full potential! :D Plus, he uses Wedge Antilles all the time, and that makes me a very happy camper. I think he writes both Wedge and Jaina better than any other author.

*hi-five* Allston lovers, unite!!!

A lot of my friends think pulpy literature is Austen or Dickens, and so while they usually like the Star Wars books, they're definitely down there on the list of Things That Make One Smart. I do tear up every time I reread Phanan's last scene though.

I like how Allston writes Jagged too. Much more personality than Stackpole. I think Stackpole was better at writing battle scenes, but he's awful at characterization, and that's why I like the Wraith books better than the Rogue ones.

*hi-fives back* Fangirling over this makes me happy. = D

I was always wondering why you never really drew Jaina. I think you need to draw her LOADS more.

This is really good. I can never draw passable 'motion' shots, and this one is fantastic (Jaina and Wedge are among my favorites, too. Yeah for Aaron Allston!)

Oh, that made me laugh. Thank you. Actually, for senior year of high school, I went as Jaina for Halloween. Nobody knew who I was- they thought I was Han, but I wore the same flightsuit to be Janson, complete with teddybear Kettch. Keep up your drawings, though, they're really good. We need more EU-drawing people.
